Mercury from amalgam fillings is gasified during the cremation. 200 kg of mercury from swedish crematoria used to pollute the atmosphere anually. More and more crematoria are today equipped with mercury filters. The fireproof plate is picked up to identify the ashes. |

On the picture you can see, among other things, a cardiac valve, a pacemaker, artificial joints and a wristwatch which have been found in the cremated ashes at Skogsgyrkogården crematorium in Stockholm. The scissors and the hemostatic forceps have been forgotten by pathologists. | |
